Dear Combatant:

We are moved to write this letter because we have heard the cries of innocent ones. Remember, the good God who made and loves you, made and loves them. Because of his love, be assured that at the end of your days he will call you to be a partaker with him in his divinity.

Herein contained are an observation, a parable, and a prayer.

If you exalt over others in your religion, observe that God is neither a Christian, nor Muslim, nor Jew, nor Buddhist, nor Hindu, nor Shintoist, nor any other religion of this world, nor of this world, nor planet, nor star, nor galaxy, nor universe. If you exalt in your power over nature and the physical matter of this universe and rest in the assurance of scientists that this is all there is, observe that no law of science nor nature requires nor explains this existence. The natural world is not itself a natural phenomenon.

There was a doctor who during a particularly brutal war experimented on children and destroyed them. When the war was lost, the victors pursued him to the ends of the planet, but they never caught him. When a report came that he had died, his pursuers came and dug up the body to be certain. Then they came and dug it up again to be doubly certain because they were overwrought by the thought that he had escaped justice. But, how could he escape? For one born in the likeness of God, the drama does not end, but truly begins at the borders of time.

He passed into the hands of God. God loved him and clothed him in his light of love and the doctor knew love as God does. When he looked back and saw those little children, he was filled with a love for them that surpassed the love their mothers felt when they were babes in their arms, a love that was greater than that which stirred in their fathers’ hearts when they saw them small and helpless and watched them grow. Then he knew what he had done. All images of Hell paled in comparison to that knowledge, for his love was not like that of this existence but that which has no limits, no beginning, and no end.

We pray that the almighty God protects you. That in the battles ahead, you are shown mercy and show mercy. That you may live to know peace and enjoy the five blessings of health, prosperity, love of virtue, long life, and natural death. That you know that you are and you remain in our prayers and God's love forever.

Morning Prayer

O God,
Be with your children who will die today
On the face of the earth, under the earth,
In the waters surrounding the earth,
And in the Heavens above the earth.
Send your messengers the Angels to them.
May they hear their voices and see your light
And know that you are with them always.
In the final hours and minutes of their lives
May they not suffer from anxiety, fear, panic, or pain
But rest assured in your love.
Reach out, O Lord, and hold them safe and secure
In the palm of your hands forever and ever.
Amen Lord, Amen, Amen
